The Peloton bike is quite an expensive piece of equipment, which is one of the main reasons you should handle the bike with utmost care.
When you buy the bike from Peloton, the delivery team will ensure that the bike is safely set in your house.
But take an instance where you have to transport the used bike yourself. Or instances where you have to move the bike from your small studio to a larger one, within the house or even outside the house.
This is where I come in, with a simplified yet detailed DIY on how to move the Peloton bike.
What says Peloton officially?
Do You Need Extra Hands to Move the Peloton Bike?
Yes and no. If you are moving the bike downstairs or upstairs, you will definitely need extra hands to ensure that you lift the heavy bike where necessary. However, if you are just moving it on level ground, the small wheels at the front, usually referred to as the transport wheels, will come in handy.
When incorporating an extra party into the bike moving process, ensure that you are in constant communication. Also, try to be patient with each other for the safety of the bike.
When you want to move the bike on level ground then the below video will help you.
Which Things Should You Do Before Moving the Bike?
Whether you are moving the bike from one room to another or from place to place, you have to remove the touchscreen. Being the most delicate part of the bike, the Peloton touchscreen should always be off the bike whenever you are moving the bike. Fortunately, removing and re-installing the screen is quite simple, and you can actually do it on your own.
Secondly, remove every movable stuff on the bike. These include the cycling shoes, which most people prefer to leave by the seat clamp, the weights, and the water bottle. This step prevents things from falling off the bike and probably causing distraction, destruction, and injury during the transit process.
Thirdly, if you are moving the bike via a transport truck, that is, over a long distance, you have to remove the bike pedals as well. Remember that the pedals may be strong but prone to breakage if the bike falls.
Finally, ensure that you tighten all the nuts on the bike when moving over a long distance. You can also consider lowering the bike seat and handlebars to the lowest position, which is the strongest and most enduring.

How to Remove the Peloton Bike Screen
First off, unplug the power cable from the screen, which goes in through the rear center of the screen. Wait! Before unplugging the cable, you should switch off the power at the main power supply. This process will power off the screen for safety reasons.
Then, remove the plastic covers at the back of the peloton screen, which you just pull without using any tools. Then, with an Allen key (Note: Allen key for Bike plus and use a Philips head screwdriver for peloton previous bike ), undo the screen gently to loosen the bolt tightening the screen to the bike.
Once the bolts are loose, you should hold onto the screen to prevent it from falling as you unscrew the bolts completely off the bike.
Most importantly, ensure that you put the screen on a safe surface, preferably on a clean, soft towel, face down. The position ensures that the screen does not risk falling, while the soft towel prevents the screen from a cold surface. Remember that the screen is too expensive to mishandle what you already have.

How to Remove the Pedals
Ensure that the resistance knob is turned off completely when carrying out this process. This will prevent the pedals from moving as a result of the actions of the resistance knob.
The peloton bike pedals require a 15mm wrench to loosen. Fundamentally, remember that the left pedal features a reverse installation, so loosening it calls for a clockwise unscrewing. On the other hand, you will unscrew the right pedal normally, unscrewing it in an anticlockwise manner.
How to Remove the Dumbbells Holders and Water Bottle Holder
Though it’s not necessary, when moving the bike over long distances, you may as well remove the weights and water bottle holders.
The bolts holding the water bottle holder are clearly visible on both sides of the frame. Use an Allen key and probably a spanner to hold the other side for a faster job to loosen the bolts. Hold on to the water bottle holder carefully and downwards to remove it safely.
Next, use the same Allen key to loosen the dumbbell holder. A Phillips screwdriver can also act as an alternative. Luckily for you, the screws on the dumbbell holders are easily visible, just as with the water bottle.
Moving the Peloton Bike from One Gym to Another
When moving the peloton bike from room to room, house to house, or even within the same neighborhood, the process is simpler. It even becomes better when you have to move the bike on level ground. In this scenario, you only have to remove the touchscreen, and you are good to go.
Hold the bike by the bike seat clamp from the rear, and lift it by its front transport wheels. Then, move it to the place where you wish. Ensure that you move slowly, and avoid bumps, wall corners, and anything that may cause the bike a scratch or damage.
Once you set the bike to its new position, you can re-install the touch screen immediately. Usually, the touchscreen is safer and more convenient when re-installed immediately when the bike is ready for it.
Moving the Peloton Bike by Truck
In this case, the distance is long enough to engage a truck or a transit vehicle. This is where you also need an extra person to help you with the moving process.
Once you remove the peloton touchscreen, the water bottle and its holder, the weights and their holders, and the pedals, the bike is ready for transit.
You can move the bike by holding it by the rear side of the seat and lifting it by the transport wheels. Then, direct it by yourself until you get to the area where you need assistance, say by the door.
Your partner will hold the bike by the handlebars while you hold the rear, and you can lift the bike together when necessary. Be careful when hoisting it onto the truck, and seek extra help where necessary.
Once on the truck, use strong straps to tie the bike to the truck on its four sides. The aim of using the straps is to prevent the bike from falling over during transit.
Once you get to your designated place, you can unstrap the bike and repeat moving the bike from the truck to the house. Ensure that you put back all the accessories that you removed to aid in transition when the bike settles on its mat.
